Quieter Summer

Less hectic, but still full.

I (Dan) was busy running and teaching in our summer internship program. We had three excellent summer interns that I thoroughly enjoyed working with. Our goal was to make the summer internship a free, short version of our year-long program and at the same time use the interns to accomplish some of the goals that BBS needed to be working toward (recruiting, improving the campus).

One of our interns, Justin, was an engineering student from Riverside, California. He had a great summer and after hearing us talk a lot about God's mission to the world - he decided that he wanted to be a "internationally sent" part of it. (It sounds funny, but I say it that way because ALL of us who know Christ are sent on His mission to wherever we are.) So he'll be finishing his degree and then looking possibly at an area of the Buddhist world in which to work.

We are continuing to see lots of young people challenged, and broadened, and coming to grips with Gods calling for them after being here (and it's not always international missions, either).

Some of the best days I have are the ones where I get to sit in my living room with a student or a group of students and I get to be a part of encouraging them and helping them process who God made them to be and what work He has fashioned them for.
